Medical
programmes :
The
poor and aged people are in need of this. However,
majority of the villages does not have a primary health
center even. We organise medical camps and medical
check-ups in the villages and provide the drugs free
of cost.
Adult literacy and awareness:
Illiteracy among the tribal and rural area people
in this region is very large; say about 95%
or so. We believe that a person is not complete
if he cannot read the versus from Bible. Most
of the believers at the beginning of our ministry
were illiterates. We understood, providing education
is one of the paramount of their requirements
to prevent the exploitation from all sources.
Keeping the above points in mind, we started
Adult Literacy Centres and Zones to impart the
knowledge to those unprivileged souls. We linked
this programme with our evangelism and local
churches. At present we
have about 100 centers with 30 adults, approximately,
in each. Many of these classes are run
at the evening hours to facilitate maximum attendance.
We supply the teaching aids like Books, Black
board, Gaslights etc., in addition to our dedicated
staff and teachers.
Counselling: To
face the difficulties and to overcome it, we carry
out counseling sessions to the villagers/believers.
This is an important area of witnessing the prince
of peace. PGT has efficient counsellors in its mission
team members and they minister wonderfully to the
villagers who stand confused by the age old problem
'POVERTY' with the sudden change in living style and
relationships due to the emerging neo-liberalism and
tendency for urbanizing.
Distribution
of warm cloths: Need
of warm clothes during winter season is a must for
people especially the aged ones. We provide this from
our limited resources.
